Megalithic tombs in Europe Professor Timothy Darvill talks tombs  

Professor Timothy Darvill will be presenting an overview of European megalithic tombs at a colloquium to be held in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, on the 20th February 2008.

The colloquium is entitled: 'Archaeology in central and northwest Europe in the 21st Century: perspectives and challenges of international cooperation' is jointly hosted by the Society of Antiquaries of London and the Romisch-Germanische Kommission des Deutschen Archaeologischen Instituts.

Megalithic tombs are found widely across Atlantic northwest Europe from Spain to Sweden and mainly date to the period from 4500 BC to 2000 BC. Further details about the meeting and can be found at here.
