Bournemouth University's (BU) School of Applied Sciences has announced a lecture series on a range of ecology and anthropology topics.

Staff and research students from all education institutions are invited to attend the School of Applied Sciences’ lecture series, which takes place over the next six months.

Academics and researchers from across the UK will speak on a range of topics, including the transition to farming in Borneo rainforests, evidence of the earliest humans in northern Europe and the extinction of an iconic ice-age species.

Dr John Stewart, Lecturer in Environmental Reconstruction and Environmental Change, is organising the lectures. He said: “They’re all topical issues from significant individuals in their field, all of which relate to lines of research conducted at BU”.

The first in the series takes place between 4pm-5pm on Tuesday 2 November. Professor Norman Maclean from the University of Southampton and panel member of European Food Safety Authority will talk about GM animals in science and agriculture.
